Metoidioplasty

The Metoidioplasty is sometimes referred to as a “clitoral release” or a “free-up”, though this can be misleading because this procedure involves more than simply cutting the suspensory and labial ligaments to allow for a more masculine appearance (that process is what we are referring to as Genital Masculination).

Results vary, but in the end, the metoidioplasty is one of the most non-invasive procedures performed that can give the result of a relatively normal looking, though small, penis. Best results come from those who have had considerable clitoral growth through the use of testosterone.

One of the outcomes not expected from this procedure is the ability to penetrate (intercourse), though it has been reported by few that it is possible. One advantage to this is that it does not have to compromise the potential for future, more extensive surgeries, like a phalloplasty.

Several other procedures that are common combinations (or done within months of each other) with the metoidioplasty are the scrotoplasty, urethral lengthening, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, vaginectomy, mons resection and testicular implants.
